Description
Kamarkas, also known as Bengal Kino or Flame of the Forest, is a tree found in tropical regions of Asia. The gum or resin extracted from the bark of the tree is used as a flavoring agent and thickener in various Indian dishes. Kamarkas have a slightly sweet, woody flavor with a hint of bitterness. It is commonly used in meat dishes, lentil soups, and stews to enhance the flavor and add thickness to the gravy. In addition to culinary uses, kamarkas is also believed to have medicinal properties and is used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat various ailments such as diarrhea, dysentery, and wounds.
